Looking after cats in their own homes is recommended by the experts, including those of the Cats Protection League, because cats are territorial, and much of their feeling of security and ability to relax comes from being surrounded by the familiar sights, sounds and scents of their own territory.

As  a result they advise that, unless your cat is used to travelling, it’s not a good idea to take him or her on holiday. They are simply happiest in the surroundings they know.
